Nikita Chhabra is a full-time artist and the founder of Alekhyam Art Academy. With roots in architecture and years of teaching, she focuses on step-by-step, thoughtfully designed lessons that build skill, confidence, and a steady art practice.
Workshop curriculum
Pre-workshop practice + supply list + recorded sketching lessons, followed by 7 live sessions (Mon/Wed/Fri · 7:30-9:30 PM IST).
- Complete the pre-workshop practice (acrylic basics) + supplies + orientation.
- Prepare sketches via recorded sketching lessons so live sessions are pure painting time.
- Finish 7 guided paintings covering skies, water, fog, foliage, perspective, architecture, and night lights.
Pre-workshop journey (5 recorded lessons)
- Pre-workshop practice (acrylic basics): Brush handling, paint consistency, blending warm-ups.
- Supplies & setup: Canvas size, brush types, paint set.
- Platform orientation on 8th Feb 7:30pm IST: Where to find live links, references, recordings and announcements.
- 4 recorded sketching lessons for Day 4, 5, 6 and 7
- We will be sharing individual sketching lessons for Cityscapes - one day prior to the demo. One needs to watch and prepare the sketch beforehand so we can focus on the painting process during the Live session.
- Complete the warm-ups and keep your materials ready. This saves live class time for real painting: skies, water, fog, architecture, reflections and atmosphere.
Sessions 1-2 · Values, blending, skies & water
- Session 1 - 9th February 2026 : Sunset Scene : Blending, Values and textures (Mon) - Blending techniques, gradients, brush control, water and clouds.
- Session 2 - 11th February 2026 : Galaxy Landscape : Cloudy textures and creating light (Wed) - Learn how to create light and fuzzy cloudy textures in night sky.
Sessions 3-5 · Atmosphere, fog, foliage & texture
- Session 3 - 13th February 2026 : Misty Hills : Layering and foliage (Fri) - Create depth using soft edges, layering and muted tones.
- Session 4 - 16th February 2026 : Riverside : Perspective and reflections (Mon) - Bring a cityscape alive using contrasts and light placement.
- Session 5 - 18th February 2026 : Rural Perspective (Wed) - Learn landscape + arhcitectural elements along with people.
Sessions 6-7 · Architecture and night city lights
- Session 6 - 20th February 2026 : Architectural Perspective (Fri) - Capturing architectural details with abstraction.
- Session 7 - 23rd February 2026 : Night scene : City lights (Mon) - Learn sponge blending approaches and final detailing in night city scene.
