What this one weekend is designed to give you

  • Follow a clear sequence
Observe the object, block in simple shapes, measure and place, read light and shadow, then build value and texture with line.
  • Build ball pen confidence
Work without depending on erasing, so you learn to observe before you draw and let each mark stand.
  • Complete two full drawings
An art-supplies sketchbook spread and a food-illustration still life.
  • Revisit and continue
Use three months of replays and individual feedback on your drawing to keep the method clear.

By the end, you can expect to...

  • Break an everyday object into simple shapes and measure its proportions.
  • Use line weight to separate foreground, edges, and detail.
  • Read light, shadow, and value, then build them with hatching and cross-hatching.
  • Finish a still life that feels three-dimensional, and recognise the sequence behind it.

Two finished drawings, and a steadier way of seeing.
